Who we are

Margie: I am a qualified childbirth educator (Grad Dip CBE), presenter and group facilitator. I have supported women giving birth for many years. My previous background in psychology and disability services have given me an excellent grounding in the importance of respecting difference and individual needs.

I have two children whose births and lives fuel my interest in birth and parenting. I am friendly, respectful and caring and feel honoured to support women, couples and new parents in one of the greatest ventures of their lives, a journey full of joy, challenge and love.

My interest in mothers, fathers and babies has led to active membership in the Maternity Coalition working for systemic maternity service improvement and in Pandsi which supports women with pregnancy or post natal depression. I am involved with supportive mothers’ groups.

Ingrid: I have been supporting women giving birth for many years. I am a childbirth educator (Grad Dip CBE) and a qualified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).

I am a caring, respectful and understanding doula and educator and I enjoy assisting women and their partners through the transition to becoming a parent for the first or subsequent time.

My work in this area has grown from my own experience of pregnancy, birth and mothering, coupled with a long interest in improving women’s lives. I have developed a deep commitment to working in partnership with women and their partners to assist them to experience birth and early parenting with a sense of empowerment and growth.

I have also been a breastfeeding counsellor with the Australian Breastfeeding Association since 2001 and have counselled many women through breastfeeding and early parenting issues since this time.
